While there, we water the animals, clean up after them, and talk to the community. If you are interested in this, let us know we can keep you posted on the next events we need help with.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS IN COMMUNITY
A few times a year we have fundraising events where we need extra hands. Duties can include a variety of things, usually not associated with the animals. Finding donations, picking up and delivering flyers, talking with community, working a booth, serving food, and much more. These events are always fun and all throughout the year.
We also have adoption events at the shelter, where we look for volunteers who can call references, help in the cat room, and welcome people to the shelter during these events.

Some events include;
Spay-Ghetti Dinner (January)
Clear the Shelter (August)
Barktober Fest (October)
Hot Cocoa Stand (December)
MEIDCAL EVENTS
Vaccination Clinics: Several times a year we hold low cost vaccination clinics for our community. For this we need volunteers to help with crowd control, handing out papers, helping the vet hold animals, draw vaccinations for the vet, and writing certificates for the vet.

Spay/Neuter Clinics: A vet comes to town, and we spay and neuter pets in our community that sign up over a weekend. We need volunteers to help the vet move animals, wash utensils, and other odds and ends. We also look for volunteers to sit in the room with the animals while they wait their turn to be fixed. This helps keeps them calm, and also when they come out of surgery it helps them to know they are not alone.
TRANSPORT
#RESCUEGCK
We always look for adults to help drive transport. Sometimes it is just a couple hours away, sometimes it is to Denver and back. We do weekly transports and always need drivers to drive a van to Denver and help rescues unload their animals. We also look for last minute drivers when we have an animal that needs picked up or dropped off last minute.Â
For all transports we provide the van, gas, and a meal.
